           Sofa is always the focal point of our living space. Sitting on a fabric couch and reading books or watching TV gives the sweetest pleasure. Don’t let tough stains and messy spills obstruct your style. Follow this simple step by step procedure to clean the fabric sofa.

STEPS TO CLEAN THE SOFA FROM STAINS:

Get to the stains quickly

         As soon as a spill or stain occurs, get the cleaning done immediately. Waiting for too long even a few minutes may cause the stain to dry and it makes the cleaning process a tough one.



Check the manufacturer’s recommendations

         Before using any cleaning detergents or solutions, check the manufacturer’s care instructions which can usually be found on the sofa’s tags. In online the care instructions will be given for all the products. In case if you use any cleaning solution other than given in the instruction could cause permanently damaged upholstery.

Use a dry brush to remove loose particles
           Always use a dry brush to clean the dust particles on the sofa. Periodic cleaning is necessary.


 Vacuum cleaner
         Before scrubbing use the vacuum to clean the loose particles that get settled on the upholstery. This will make it easier to identify and focus on stains when it comes time to cleaning.



Clean with baking soda
         Baking soda is also an effective cleaning treatment. In fact, sprinkling baking soda over the entire couch will help to remove odour and further loosen stains. Mix together equal parts of baking soda and water. This mixture of solution can be used for cleaning the tough stains. Let the baking soda sit on the stain for about 15-20 minutes. Once the baking soda has fully absorbed the stain, it can be cleaned either using a brush or a vacuum cleaner.


Spot treat with the recommended agent
        Clean your couch with the recommended product. Before proceeding test a small area for any discoloration. Follow the instructions on the packaging before you use a water-based cleaner or a solvent (or both). If the instructions say it is safe then it can be done or else wipe off the solution with a dry cloth.



Dry your fabric sofa with a soft towel
       You can pat down the wet areas with a dry towel to soak up the moisture on the couch. The other cleaning solutions can be brushed off.
Let your fabric sofa air dry
      Dry your upholstery overnight and then enjoy your sofa at the morning.
